Dr. MSc Niki Evelpidou - Project Coordinator
Dr. Dr. MSc Niki Evelpidou is currently Professor in the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Faculty of Geology and Geoenvironment, with subject ‘Geomorphology and Geoinformatics’ and Project leader.
She is a distinguished Doctor in both the Faculty of Geology and Geoenvironment of the University of Athens and the Faculty of Geoarchaeology of the University of Franche Compte, in France. She is actively involved in the research fields of geomorphology, sea level changes, palaeogeography, geology, spatial technologies, study and modeling of natural hazards, while emphasizing on the use of new technologies and innovation.
She counts more than 200 publications in scientific journals and 17 books and textbooks, while she has given many lectures in Greece and abroad. The applied research of Prof. Evelpidou has been supported both at a national level (Research Committee of the University of Athens, General Secretariat for Research and Technology, Ministry of Education, Municipalities) and internationally with numerous funds (Community Initiative Interreg, Leonardo DaVinci, FP7). Furthermore, she has participated in COST actions G2, A27, 634, C22, ES0701 and ES0907 of the European Science Foundation.

MSc Giannis Saitis is EnvStories manager and he is an PhD candidate at the Faculty of Geology & Geoenvironment, of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. He graduated from the Faculty of Geology of the University of Patras. Afterwards, he received postgraduate training in the University of Athens, and he has an MSc in Environmental Geology and he works mainly with the formations of Beach rocks . He has attended conferences and training schools on geological subjects. He has participated in research programmes on the subjects of the environment and environmental management.

Daphne Pontikou graduated from the faculty of Geology and Geoenvironment of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. She obtained a master’s degree in Museum Studies from National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and she is attending a second master in the pedagogical field. Her research activities are mostly focused on designing and implementing environmental educational programs for sustainable development for primary and secondary school. She has collaborated with many cultural and educational institutions on designing educational programs and she participates in conferences and workshops which provide active learning methods and experiential learning in environmental science.

Alexandros Petropoulos is an PhD candidate at the Faculty of Geology & Geoenvironment, of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. He graduated from the Faculty of Geology and Geoenvironment in 2013. His research activities are mostly focused on coastal geomorphology and sedimentology. He has participated as a Research Assistant in researches of sedimentological and geochemical analyses of recent marine sediments, investigating the paleo-environmental evolution. Furthermore, he has taken part in Coastal-Underwater scientific researches for sea level changes and in geo-archaeological expedition at Ionian Sea. In addition, he participates frequently in conferences, workshops, training schools and underwater researches on the subject of geology.
